Bred to conform to breed standards set by kennel clubs like the AKC or UKC. The emphasis is on physical appearance, including structure, coat, and overall conformation and beauty. Generally, have a more refined and polished look. They are bred to have a balance appearance according to the breed standard, defining head, coat, outline, type and gait. They are heavier built compared to field beagles. While still energetic and friendly, they may be more even-tempered and less intense in their drive compared to field Beagles. The goal of responsible breeding is to improve the breed. This means selecting dogs not just to meet the breed standard, but also to have excellent health, temperament and genetic diversity.
The Field Beagles:
Bred primarily for their hunting abilities and performance in the field. The focus is on traits like stamina, scenting ability, and drive. Tend to be leaner, with a slightly longer body to aid in their hunting tasks.
They may have a more rugged appearance. Often slightly smaller and lighter to enhance agility and endurance in the field. They typically weigh less than show Beagles. Highly energetic and driven, with a strong prey drive. They are very focused and determined when on a scent trail. Require extensive training to hone their hunting skills and manage their high energy levels. They are often used in packs for hunting.
it is important to say there are some reputable “Field Beagle” breeders but, it is also known almost all Field Beagles come from Puppy Mills.
Please support reputable Preservation Breeders, and Do NOT buy from puppy mills.
